History of firm

PRESS GLASS company was founded in December 1991 in the form of a Polish-Swedish joint venture company. The headquarters of the firm was located in Wreczyca Wielka near Czestochowa (Poland). The total surface area of the production hall amounted to 600m2 and production commenced in January 1992.

In November 1992 all shares in the company were bought out by the present owner Mr. Arkadiusz Mus, who introduced many organizational changes aimed at improving the quality of products and services. A lot of emphasis was placed on marketing and the image of the company. The increase in demand as regards double glazing glass led in 1993 to the decision to buy a plot of land in Nowa Wies near Czêstochowa (Poland) with a surface area of 17,000m2, where the company headquarters is still located today.

PRESS GLASS SA Nowa WieśPRESS GLASS by focusing on modern technological solutions within a short period of time became the most modern plant producing double glazing glass in Poland and one of the most modern in Europe.

In the years 1998-1999 the company launched a wide-ranging campaign aimed at the use of low-emission glass to lower energy loss through glass partitions. The company patented the brand name “Top-Glas” for double glazed glass with a heat transfer co-efficient of U=1.1. The second area of interest for PRESS GLASS became glass which is used in the construction of facades:
in columnar-transom systems, point fastening systems and structural systems.

The company continues to strive for perfection regarding production management and customer services, which was recognized in July 1999 when it received the quality certificate ISO 9002 and in July 2002 it received the ISO 9001 certificate.

The scale of production led to the constant need to reach perfection in terms of the
level of services. As the first firm in the market to do so, PRESS GLASS introduced a system known as PG-Net to allow its clients to monitor their orders on the Internet. Its task was to allow for the automatic circulation of documents between the factories of PRESS GLASS and the company’s partners.

The clients gained the following possibilities:

  • constant monitoring and control of orders,
  • earlier preparation of space to receive consignments due
  • to the specifications regarding stands that are received before delivery,
  • immediate receipt of invoices after their completion.

In September 2001, following its never-changing policy of constant growth, PRESS GLASS took over Celt-Tychy S.A. in Tychy (Poland) and created PRESS GLASS Capital Group. Immediately after this takeover, the decision was taken to build a new production hall of 12,000m2 there and was fully equipped with the most modern equipment for producing special types of glass.
The aim of PRESS GLASS Group is to offer clients an ever wider range of products, not only for construction purposes, but also for other applications, while also intensifying the production of double glazed glass.
The Celt-Glas factory (now called PRESS GLASS Tychy) specializes in the production of special types of glass: mainly toughened and machined glass.

The plant in Tczew with a combined surface area of 11,000m2 specializes in the production of double glazed glass.

PRESS GLASS SA TychyIn May 2005 Celt-Glas S.A. in Tychy was taken over by PRESS GLASS S.A. and became a subsidiary of PRESS GLASS. From this moment all three plants function under the name of PRESS GLASS, with the headquarters located in Nowa Wies and the subsidiaries located in Tychy and Tczew.

In 2006 as a result of accepting harmonised standards in Poland in order to equalise the quality requirements for products in EU countries, PRESS GLASS company successfully passed the certification for conformity with new requirements and began to label products with the CE mark.

The first one, dedicated to serving window production companies, will focus on increasing its potential in the production of glazed units. In the year 2012 there is a plan to carry out the second stage of investment which includes expanding the factory in Radomsko and equipping in new production lines. After finishing the project PRESS GLASS in Radomsko will be the largest and the state-of-the-art factory assembling glass units in the Europe.
